During the pandemic in 2020 in Marfa, I started making paper. I made the pulp first from Big Bend Sentinel newspapers and Interview magazines and then from cotton rag pulp. I mixed it up in a 5 gallon buck and pureed it w my immersion hand blender, then I poured it into a 50” x 60” screen I stretched over stretchers. and let it dry in the sun. I mixed in some glue too. I then started pouring the pulp onto canvas so it had a little more structure. I had intended to print on it w my plywood blocks, but it was too textured, so I painted the shaped on.
