My work is grounded in printmaking. I began carving large sheets of plywood to print from. I then cut out large shapes from the plywood to print from. I print with water-based ink and so when my work moved to involving many colors, I couldn’t roll the ink on and print before it dried, that’s when the work evolved to be carved paintings.
